Janet Meredith
Executive Director

Janet Meredith (BA, MBA) has spent over 25 years specializing in management, strategy, marketing, research, and audience development in the non-profit and business sectors. After 10 years as a senior executive at the Denver Art Museum, Janet has been a consultant to corporate, non-profit and civic organizations, and has worked as interim executive director for a small non-profit.

 

 

 

Michele Wheeler
Community Liaison

Ms. Wheeler is a long time resident of Denver.  She grew up in Northeast Park Hill, graduated from East High School, married and had two sons before moving to Washington, D.C. to attend Howard University as a major in English.  In 1981 she moved back to Denver and began working at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in several academic departments, and in 1998, received a HUD Scholarship to attend the University of Colorado at Denver, where she received a Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, with an emphasis in Community Development, in May, 2000.  She began work in the Cole, Northeast Park Hill, Montbello, and Stapleton neighborhoods as a Community Justice Advocate for the Denver District Attorney's Office shortly after graduation from C.U.  While employed through the D.A.'s Office, she recruited a broad, cross section of citizens for the office to serve on a restorative justice council involving juvenile offenders, their families, and victims of juvenile crime.  She formulated partnerships between faith-based organizations for a gun violence prevention program.  Ms. Wheeler has facilitated several community and town hall meetings, including a first of its kind, Family Leadership Training Institute program, out of Connecticut, which empowers parents to be leaders in their communities and advocates for their children.  Due to her activism in the community, this June, she received the Community Organizer of the Year Award from the Optimist Club International.  Ms. Wheeler was also asked to join the 2040 Partners for Health Board of Directors in 2006.

Merida Carmona
Project Manager/Grants Coordinator

Merida joined 2040 partners for Health in January and has a background in community health, with a particular interest in underserved communities. Among her other experience, Merida worked as lead patient navigator at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless for  number of years, and as the grants and volunteer manager at Clinica Tepeyac. She has an undergraduate degree in biology, and is in the second year of the Master of Public Health program at the University of Colorado, concentrating in international health disparities.

Carolyn Hoyt
Operations Manager

Carolyn Hoyt joined 2040 Partners for Health in November 2011. She provides administrative support to the staff, assists with the development and tracking of program budgets, as well as maintaining the day to day activities of 2040. Carolyn was born and raised in Denver and attended college in St. Louis, Missouri, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. She has gained experience in an administrative role in the mental health environment for Colorado state regulated counseling clinic, providing outpatient rehabilitation services for those struggling with an addiction to drugs and alcohol.
