Kids Project

Kids Study is a community-based participatory research project designed to collect information on physical activity and weight from 250 children and a parent (for a total of 500 participants) in the neighborhoods of Northeast Park Hill, Greater Park Hill, East Montclair, Stapleton, and Northwest Aurora. The project is in response to a direct request from our TNH2H Coalition and Healthy Neighborhoods Council to collect more information about children and to develop programming related to children and their families.

The project specifically looks at environmental factors that can influence health and physical activity levels of children aged 10-14. The child and his/her parent or guardian were asked to answer a short survey, and the child was asked to participate in three short strength and flexibility measures, similar to fitness tests performed in school. Participants were compensated with a gift card for their involvement in the study.
